Timothy Page, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist at Oakland Ophthalmic Surgery, serving patients in Birmingham and Troy, MI. Dr. Page specializes in complex and refractive cataract surgery.
Dr. Page is a nationally recognized ophthalmologist and has delivered hundreds of lectures on the topic of eye surgery including an annual invitation to the Harvard University Intensive Cataract Surgery Course, and the University of Michigan Lens and Cataract Review Course. He has also been chosen as a skills transfer instructor in both cataract surgery and complex anterior segment surgery for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
An accomplished scientific author and inventor, Dr. Page has pioneered surgical concepts in ophthalmic surgery. He holds several patents and has won the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Film Festival for his ideas in the category of “Instruments & Devices/Intraocular Lenses” and placed second in Paris at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. Also, for his pioneering work in safer eye surgery, he was awarded “Best Paper in Session” at the ASCRS national meeting. These awards added to his previous first place prize in the ASCRS Film Festival category of “New Techniques in Cataract Surgery”. He has since been chosen as a judge for the ASCRS Film Festival, and his concepts for safer surgery and superior refractive outcomes are currently under development.
Dr. Page had the distinct honor of contributing a chapter for the textbook “Advanced IOL Fixation Techniques: Strategies for Compromised or Missing Capsular Support”. The textbook serves as the definitive instructional resource for eye surgeons across the world for complex cataract surgery.
Dr. Page is a dedicated humanitarian. For more than fifteen years he has led hundreds of volunteer doctors and nurses into remote regions of East Africa providing sight-restoring surgery to the blind. He served on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Global Outreach Committee and received an American Academy of Ophthalmology Achievement Award for his service.
